Manchester orthodontist Nicholas Marshall's license to practice dentistry has been suspended by the New Hampshire Board of Dental Examiners four days after investigators inspected his office.
According to WMUR, "Investigators say Marshall wasn't using instrument sterilization devices correctly, used a non-approved disinfectant to clean surfaces, threw biohazard materials such as bloodied gauze in the trash and was using a cracked lead apron while taking X-rays.
Investigators also were concerned that an unlicensed receptionist was assisting him.
Health officials said the risk of infection for patients is considered low, and it’s too soon to recommend testing for hepatitis B, hepatitis C or HIV."
Concerned patients are asked to contact their healthcare providers. Patients without health insurance may call 603-271-9461.
